Chocolate Covered Strawberries... Bananas!

You probably know that chocolate covered strawberries is not the only way to go when you try to place some fruit in your chocolate… here are two nice ideas, the first is to cover bananas with chocolate and then place in the freezer, it becomes a nice, crunchy snack, fun to eat (if anyone remembers… it’s a kind of thing you find in Disneyland)

Pretty simple to make, just grab 10 bananas and some wood skewers, about a cup of semi sweet chocolate, cut one tip of the bananas and then peel the top of the banana and insert the skewer, than place in the freezer for 3-4 hours. Right before you plan to eat this, place the chocolate in a microwave over or better yet on a pan, I like to add a little butter and a little cream, stir it till its nice and ready, dip the bananas.

The nice thing is that you can freeze some of the covered bananas… which is always an issue… which is better the warm chocolate or the cold one (the warm).

So there is other things to do with chocolate other than chocolate covered strawberries.

You can always tell when spring has officially arrived. The signs are not always apparent in the weather but the signs are apparent in the produce section of your grocery store. Strawberries are abundant in the spring. Many grocery stores offer them at really reasonable prices during this season.

The abundant number of the red berries may have some of us excited about the season, but not so excited about eating nothing but strawberries for weeks on end. The buy-on-get-one-free offers are simply too great to pass up. You may find yourself swimming in berries if you’re not careful. What to do with all of the berries? Make chocolate covered strawberries, of course.
